In the FT8 competition, I use the MSHV program, which is pessimistic because everything is on one screen. I have connections with Ten-Tec Orion 565, the rear maximum power < 400 w. Antenna is described on the QRZCQ.com. AT the YBDXPI competition, especially on the 40M, as I see a signal, I see -10, -15 db and I cannot pronounce it, I understand the use of high power and the antenna is ineffective and at a low altitude. I advise everyone to use effective antennas and then increase the power.
